Videorama is owned and operated by Babson College and Clarkson University Graduate, Jamey Hoose. Hoose purchased the business from Clarkson Professor Marc Compeau in 2001, after Compeau successfully ran the business for 7 years. Over the past four years, Videorama has built on its excellent reputation with many renovations, new specials, and innovative programs that have helped retain customer loyalty.
With over 14,000 rental items, Videorama is the largest videostore in the North Country. Every new release is available at Videorama on its nationwide release date, and they stock a variety of movies ranging from drama and comedy titles, to foreign and documentary titles. If a particular title is not available at Videorama, they will often purchase it on the request of an individual customer. In addition to movies, Videorama carries a selection of games for rent, as well as popcorn, beverages, and theater style candy.
One product line that has recently been added at Videorama is new release DVD's for sale. In the past, Videorama sold only previously viewed and special order movies. However, due to customer demand they have added new release sales, and at just $21.99 they are extremely competitive with national chain prices. Videorama is also home to an exclusive subscription rental program, called "the Keys to the Store." This program allows customers to pay a one-time monthly charge and receive free rentals for an entire month! Up to 5 items can be checked out at a time, and many additional perks are provided for subscribers. These new additions, as well as innovations like their interactive website and AOL Instant Messaging capability, have helped to set Videorama apart from its competition.
