I am writing to clarify a posting in the Village of Potsdam Police Blotter Reports in last week's Integrator (10/17). There was a report of ten individuals under the age of twenty one found in possession of alcohol during raids on both McDuff's and Backstreets. While all charges listed are correct, lumping all of the accused together overlooks one very important point: to our knowledge, only one of them was arrested at Backstreets. My intention is not to accuse The Integrator of misrepresenting the report, as that is how it appeared everywhere. However, we as a staff work very hard to ensure that every person who enters the bar has valid identification, and that is certainly not reflected when charges from two separate raids are published that way.
Thank you for allowing me to clear this up.
Sincerely,
