Kinney Drugs is a retail and drug chain located just north of Potsdam on Market Street. They provide a Full-Service Pharmacy Department and a One-Hour Photo Department along with retail drug store products. Kinney Drugs provides limited delivery services. Kinney Drugs has served the Northern and Central New York region along with parts of Vermont for over 100 years. The founder, Burt Orrin Kinney, opened the first store in 1903 in Gouverneur. That location remains there to this day, but Kinney Drugs has expanded to nearly one hundred stores and continues to grow.
In 1962, Kinney Drugs had expanded to the point where they needed to build a large Distribution Center in Gouverneur. From this warehouse, any product can quickly be delivered to any individual Kinney Drugs store. This has allowed Kinney Drugs to cater to the needs of all of its customers, which is an important part of their policy.
Kinney Drugs also has catered to the needs of its customers by having longer weekday hours than many stores located in and around Potsdam. From Monday to Friday, they are open from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., while on Saturday they are open from 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Kinney Drugs also offers a Kinney Value Card that provides discounts on Kinney Brand products.
