When I think about my Thanksgiving, I have to say it was pretty good. I was with my family and got to sleep in late on that day. My family and I started eating at 5 p.m., so before that I did not do much. For my Thanksgiving dinner, I did not have the typical average food on the dinner table. There was no turkey, ham, mashed potatoes or stuffing. Instead, I had stuffed chicken with apples and cherries, pumpkin ravioli, ginger chicken sausage and lots of white wine. Everything from this list was very good. I enjoyed a little bit of everything. My favorite part of the meal was the pumpkin ravioli. And I did not overeat, but i may have had a little too much wine. For dessert, I just had chocolate covered cherries. I had some good times on Thanksgiving. I also thought of Christmas and told my parents what I wanted for presents. Already I was looking at a Christmas gift - a new laptop, with all the good specifications included. My brother was there to help pick out the best specs. After looking at potential laptops, I headed to bed early, with a headache from the drinking and everything.
Black Friday came along, and I did not really do anything typical with that day either.
I did not step into a mall any day over break. Yet I had completed my Christmas shopping and got gifts for everyone on my list at Clarkson right from the comforts of my own home. The secret is that I ordered stuff from a magazine and online. I also was pleased that I found great gifts for the people on my list. My friend Aaron said it is too early for Christmas shopping, but I did mine this early because I wanted to give my friends at Clarkson gifts before we all leave for the break. Plus it is better to do Christmas shopping now because I beat all the crowds at the malls. However, I did go to the movies Friday. I went to see Pride and Prejudice with my friend Melanie from home. The movie theater was packed, and it took me 25 minutes to drive there, when usually it takes me around eight to ten minutes. Pride and Prejudice was good. I liked it. I just did not know why it was packed in the theater. Was it because it was Black Friday or was it the fact a lot of people wanted to see the movie? I doubt Pride and Prejudice was the popular choice of many of the movie goers, so I think it was Black Friday that brought them in. I also saw the movie Rent with my friend Brian (from back home) over break on Saturday night. It was really good. I liked it. Now I will anxiously count down the days until Christmas and hope it will be as good as Thanksgiving was.
