The Union Dutchmen started the game on an 11-0 run, putting the Golden Knights in a big deficit early. Clarkson climbed back with in six points with twelve minutes still left in the first half. Then both teams started shooting the lights out for three point land. Union took 11 3-points, and made seven of them, while Clarkson took ten and made five of them. Even though both teams shot well from beyond the arc, Union had a much better field goal percentage. Union shot 47.1 percent, while Clarkson only shot 36.4 percent, which sent the Golden Knights in the locker room trailing 45-28 at halftime.
The second half was very similar to the first half. Union continued to shoot the ball incredibly well, shooting fifty percent and continued to take care of the ball only committing three turnovers in the second half. Clarkson did improve its shooting percentage to 45.8 percent, but continued to be sloppy with the ball committing nine turnovers in the second half, and committing fourteen for the whole game. That was the main problem for the Golden Knights. These fourteen Golden Knight turnovers led to thirty-two points for the Dutchmen. Playing such careless basketball sent Clarkson home with an 84-60 loss.
Clarkson was led by Brian Salanger who had a team high fourteen points, and Will Zinsmeister added 10 points. Union was led by John Cagianello who had a game high thirty-one points. Clarkson falls to 3-9 on the season, while Union improves to 9-4.
