Skidmore Skids By in Overtime

For the first tem minutes of the game, Clarkson and Skidmore went back and fourth with Skidmore having the advantage. But the Golden Knights went on a 10-2 run which put them up by four. The two teams continued to battle each other, but Clarkson always maintained the lead. Going into halftime, the Knights had a slim three point lead, but had the momentum.
The second half was a half of runs. Skidmore went on a run in the first five minutes of the game and took a four point lead. The rebellious Golden Knights went on an 8-0 run to regain the lead. But Skidmore refused to give up. In the next two minutes the proceeded to go on a 10-3 run to regain the lead by one. Again the Knights responded with two big three pointes by Erika Fritjofson and Monica Thomas. Skidmore came right back with two easy lay-ups to tie the game with just over thirty seconds left in the game. Neither team would be able to score again, sending it into overtime.
In overtime the Thoroughbreds went on a 9-0 run in the first three minutes. Clarkson was never able to get anything going in the overtime, and with thirteen of Skidmore's nineteen points in overtime coming from free throws, Clarkson lost a tough one.
The Golden Knights were led by Erika Fritjofson's nineteen points, five rebounds and three assists. Monica Thomas added fifteen points, eight rebounds and eight assists; Sarah Wesner also had ten points in the heartbreaker. Skidmore was led by Krystal Coke who had twenty-three points and sixteen rebounds. Clarkson falls to 4-9 for the season, while Skidmore improves to 6-7.
