Vitallo Leads Golden Knights over Skidmore Thoroughbread, 77-71

The Golden Knights jumped out to an early 15-5 lead looking very impressive the first five minutes of the game. But Skidmore climbed back into the game, midway through the first half going on a 13-2 run of their own, putting them up by a point. With less than two minutes left in the first half, Clarkson found themselves down by six. But they made a late 10-4 run to tie the game going into halftime.
Coming out of the locker room with the momentum, the Golden Knights continued to score easy baskets. They built a nine point lead in the first five minutes of the second half. But the scrappy Skidmore team refused to go away without a fight. Skidmore made many runs, but the Golden Knights always had an answer. Skidmore brought the game with in a couple of points numerous times, but could never regain the lead. With a couple minutes left, Skidmore desperate and fouling to stop the clock, the Golden Knights were able to build a 6 point lead and win the game 77-71.
Clarkson was led by Junior Russ Vitallo who had 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had four assists. Both Ben Dudek and EJ Harrison chipped in with 14 points a piece. Skidmore was led by both Greg Gallagher and J. Haviland-Markowitz who both had 22 points a piece. Clarkson improves to 4-9, while Skidmore falls to 3-10. Next up for Clarkson is a string of road games against teams such as Rensselear, Vassar, Hamilton, Hobart and St. Lawrence.
