As our second and final semester begins, so does the rest of the work that we must accomplish. There are three main areas that are currently being focused on being the scheduling of senior week events, fundraising for the senior gift, and planning events up until senior week.
First with senior week you can expect to see very similar things as to what has been done in the past. We are sticking with everything that has been very popular over the past few years. Once the schedule is finalized all of the information will be made available in every way possible so everyone is informed.
Second is the senior gift campaign. For those of you who do not know the senior class has partnered with the Parents Association for the renovation of the Concrete Café. You can see the floor plan of the new café at the website: clarkson.edu/seniors/. In order to make a sizeable donation to the project, our goal is to raise $20,000. By doing that amount Clarkson will match us 1:1 for the first $15,000, and 2:1 anything after that. Assuming we raise $20,000, our total gift to the project will be $45,000. Currently our fundraising has reached $5,950 of our $20,000 goal. The major source of funding comes from seniors signing over any or all of their $300 admissions deposit. Our fundraising thermometer will appear in the paper periodically so everyone knows where we stand.
The final thing on our agenda is the planning of events up to senior week. Our goal is to do at least one thing a month up until senior week. Anyone who has ideas or suggestions please feel free to contact us.
If anyone is interested in donating money, volunteering, or has any questions about the project, please feel free to contact us. You can find out more information by going to clarkson.edu/seniors. Send any questions, comments, ideas, or concerns to Kevin Lobdell- Senior Class President at lobdelka@clarkson.edu.
