Class of 2009

Greetings Class of 2009!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jennifer Coombs and I would like to encourage you to reelect me as your Class Vice President.

This past year being a CUSA Senator and class officer has enabled me to get a good feel as to how the student government of Clarkson operates.

As a senator I've gained valuable knowledge about the Clarkson Community and its administration as well as a deeper respect for the community of students. I sincerely care about the opinions and well-being of my fellow classmates - I am here to serve YOU.

As vice-president for the past two semesters, I have attended and presented student views at all meetings held by the president. This year we will be donating 12 DVD/VCR players to every lounge in the Quad in hope that the next generation of freshmen will be able to see and understand the generosity of the student government. In addition, I will be giving a welcoming speech to the accepted students that will be attending the open house on April 1 as well as answering any questions they may have.

For next year, I plan on pushing forth new fundraising proposals in addition to the creation of a fundraising committee for our class. With additional money and a deeper understanding of the system, I hope that our officers will be able to put on a memorable event for the sophomores of the 2006/2007 school year. I am always open to the opinions of the students and I encourage you to come to me without hesitation should you have any questions or concerns about our class.

Thank you so much for your support once again! I greatly appreciate your vote in allowing me to serve you.

Class of 2007

Donald Reagan

My name is Donald Reagan or as many of you know me, simply Donny. I am running for the position of Senior Class Senator. I joined CUSA last fall because I wanted to give back to Clarkson for all Clarkson has done for me. I also wanted to get a sense of involvement in the Clarkson community. I have been on CUSA for a year and with that year I have gained an incredible amount experience which will get me off to a "running start" in the next academic year in CUSA. Currently I hold a seat on the Student Life Committee and the Activities Committee. These committees have shown me the inner workings of Clarkson and how to get what the students want when they ask. I may be running for a senior class senate seat but this does not mean I solely represent the seniors; I am a voice for the whole Clarkson community. I want to make as many students from freshmen to seniors' time here at Clarkson the most enjoyable and as smooth as possible, so when they look back as alumni they will have the same feeling about Clarkson as I do, that it is truly a remarkable place. I believe there is a lot of potential here at Clarkson to make this campus one of the best universities in the country. With my fellow Senators I believe we can start to make this a reality. The process will not happen overnight but it is actually already in its infancy with the "Defy Convention" campaign. Next academic year is another step in the process to have Clarkson "step up" to its full potential. When I graduate in May of 2007 I would love to have nothing more than the feeling of satisfaction that I made a difference here at Clarkson and made it a better place for my fellow students. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
