The Potsdam Food Co-op is located at 24 Elm Street in the heart of Potsdam. It is a full service grocery store with a focus on natural and whole foods. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.

The Co-op is a membership organization, although membership in the group is not mandatory to shop there. Members are given a standard 2% discount on all purchases, and each member has the opportunity to earn up to 23% discounts depending on the number of hours they volunteer. Call them at the number below for details. There are other discounts, usually in the form of various student / village promotions.

The Co-op also operates the Carriage House Bakery located right behind the co-op, which produces rustic, artisan breads in a variety of flavors. They also produce other baked goods from Pesto Knots to Chocolate Croissants.

The Co-op offers products unavailable elsewhere and whole cases at discount prices through special order as well. The staff is very friendly, and the co-op prides itself on being part of the local community. Goods are purchased from local suppliers whenever feasible, and the emphasis on organic produce is unique to this area. They also stock local specialty meats.

People on special diets like wheat, low sodium, dairy-free, etc. can find products at this co-op as well as books on special dieting.
