It is becoming increasingly popular for parents to choose not to vaccinate their children for diseases that once killed millions of children worldwide. Here follows a potential conversation between parent and child:

"Mommy and Daddy, why am I dying of Rubella? None of my friends are."

"Well, Sally, when you were a baby we chose not to vaccinate you because of the potential side effects of vaccinations which affect only a very small percentage of the population. Effectively, we risked the possibility of you catching diseases which no one gets anymore versus preventing you from experiencing minor side effects. Also, modern medicine is the devil."

Why make the poor kid suffer when there's medicine that has been proven effective and beneficial? I sure don't know, but more kids' parents are choosing such a risk. While most children don't die of diseases that have vaccinations, they still can't go to public schools. Some end up dying because their parents won't take them to a hospital when they're sick.

Parents who choose this path for their children are risking the kids' lives for no good reason.
