Former CU star, NHL champion honored at Friday's game

During the intermission between the second and third periods at Friday night's Men's Hockey game, President Collins presented Carolina Hurricanes forward Erik Cole with a Clarkson replica jersey to honor his NHL championship season. Cole played for the Golden Knights from 1997-2000 and is considered one of Clarkson's all-time standout players. During his three seasons with Clarkson, Cole helped the Knights tally 65 wins, an ECAC regular season title, and a tournament championship. Cole has played for the Hurricanes for four seasons, including the 2005-06 season in which he won his first Stanley Cup.

Being a native of Massena and now a resident of Cary North Carolina I have had the opportunity to watch Erik Cole play for Clarkson and for the Hurricanes. (Continued…)
