The Golden Knights concluded the season with a record of 23-17 while Union improved to 27-11.
Freshman Jessica Agnew extended a record she set earlier in the day for most kills in a season, recording 18 for the Knights. She also came within four of the single-season mark for aces in a season, finishing the year with 80. Freshman Katie Fenner, seeing significant action for the first time in the tournament, also added 16 kills. Jenna Stock led the team with 36 assists and 21 digs, tying Alison Schroeder in the digging department.
"I give a lot of credit to my team for deciding to play as hard as we did after such a disappointing loss to Vassar," Clarkson head coach Johan Dulfer said. "They really wanted to make the most of their last match together. It's been an amazing season, and how fitting that it once again ended in a five-game match. Even though we couldn't pull this one out, it definitely left everyone hungry for more next year, which is a great thing. Tonight we celebrate, tomorrow we start working for next season."
The Dutchwomen put their hitters to work with 43 kills in the final three games to move to 3-0 in the tournament and clinch the Liberty League title. Rachel Ormsby led both teams with 21 kills and also added in 26 digs. Once again, the Dutchwomen used their height to tremendous advantage with 14.5 total team blocks with five solos and 19 block assists. Julie LaSpina contributed 15 kills and Jennifer Merinder added in 45 assists.
