After setting the tone on Friday's tied match, the Clarkson Women's Hockey team toppled second-ranked Mercyhurst College 3-2. This game brought the Women's record at home to 6-0-2 and 10-2-2 overall.

At the end of the first period, senior captain Katie Morrison had two great shots on goal; however, both were deflected away. Britney Selina came in strong on the rebound and put one away in the back of the net with 54 seconds remaining.

After a scoreless second period, the third period of play provided four goals.

Mercyhurst's strong defensive pressure helped to put their first one on the board during one of their two power plays. Freshmen Jesse Scanzano redirected the goal.

Clarkson rallied back to take a 3-1 lead over Mercyhurst. They scored both of their goals off of penalties. Starter Carlee Eusepi's wrist shot gave Clarkson her third goal of the season. Two and a half minutes later, Marie-Jo Gaudet scored on a breakaway for the eventual game-winning goal. Mercyhurst tried to answer back with senior Stephanie Jones' goal but it was not enough to overcome the Golden Knights.

This weekend brings the Green and Gold to a tie for fifth in the ECAC. Over Thanksgiving break, the Golden Knights will be on the road against Harvard (4-0-0) and Dartmouth (6-0-1).
