The Golden Knights women placed third, with 386 points, out of five teams while the men came in third, with 439 points, also out of five squads.
Though the team came in third, the women's roster actually won eight of the 19 events held at the invitational, led by Larsen and Gawrys. Larsen came in first in both the 100 breaststroke (1:13.87) and 200 breaststroke (2:41.60), while Gawrys placed at the top in the 200 butterfly (2:25.86) and 200 freestyle (2:06.37). Sophomore Laura Shaddak also took home first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.34, and freshman Nicole Pera swam to a top finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:21.76. Two Clarkson relays, the 200 medley and 400 freestyle, also came in first.
While the men's team didn't come through with as many first place finishes, their depth kept the team close in the overall point standings. Junior Matt Ulsh was his usual dominant self, claiming first in both the 100 and 200 butterfly events. In the 100 fly, Ulsh won in 56.86, while in the 200 fly, he easily bested the remainder of the competition in 2:09.53, beating all others by at least 10 seconds. Matching Ulsh was freshman Brendan Hofler, who also won by more than 10 seconds in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:10.91. The Knights 200 medley relay came in first with a time of 1:44.73 to round out the winners.
