Club Spotlight: Clarkson Sports Car Club

CSCC was founded because some of Clarkson's car enthusiasts wanted a more organized club. The earliest CSCC members wanted to have officers that were entirely proactive in the club, as they felt the previous Auto Club had neglected to do. The CSCC took over the shop after organizing and becoming recognized by CUSA. CUSA froze the Auto Club's budget, effectively ending the Auto Club.
Enough of that nitty gritty stuff, our club has over 40 members that range from Off-Road junkies to street sport car fanatics. Diversity makes CSCC an incredible club; every person has a little bit more knowledge in one particular aspect than others. This makes working together interesting. The club has a bay in the Maintenance Facility, and everyone in the club is open to work on there cars in this heated bay (which is especially nice in the winter). Members do things that range from changing their oil, to completely rebuilding their motors, and doing turbo swaps.
Events have included trips to Ocean City, Maryland to a VW/Audi show called H20 International, and our own Dyno Day in Lake Placid, NY in this year alone. At Dyno Day, 10 members got to pull out the tape measure and see who is really bigger, horsepower and torque wise. Ice Racing in Vermont is coming up soon, which will hopefully be occurring as we've had cold weather recently. Another Dyno day, some spring autocross meets, and hopefully a spring car show, to show campus our rides will be happening this semester.
The club is also hosting a Car Movie night on January 25. The club will provide pizza, soda, and high octane movies. Anyone on campus is welcome to join.
