It was a lackluster first period for the Knights as they were out shot early but, thanks to a Dartmouth hooking penalty the Knights got the first goal as, senior defenseman Amanda Dittmer took the Marie-Jo Gaudet pass and scored with a blast from the blue line that found its way through and beat the screened Dartmouth net minder. The lead didn't last long as Dartmouth's Jenna Cunningham scored as goaltender Eve Grandmont-Berube was unable to get in front of the screened shot. But the Knights would end up on top at the end of the first period thanks to a great unassisted effort by Marie-Jo Gaudet as she skated from the corner and beat the goaltender from ten feet away to score her twelfth goal of the season.
The Big Green was able to tie the game in the middle of the second period as Nicole Ruta redirected the Katie Gray shot past the Knight goaltender.
The first half of the third period was played evenly both teams getting chances to score and were foiled by the two goaltenders. But the Big Green was able to take the lead with an individual effort by Katie Gray as her shot found its way to the back of the net. The Knights picked up the pace but time was running out in the third. The Knights caught a break late as Dartmouth' s Amy Cobb was called for interference and thirty-six seconds later Katie Gray was called for boarding, giving Clarkson a two man advantage for almost a minute and a half. The Knights capitalized on these mistakes as Kimberly McKenney put the Britney Selina pass in the back of the net for the equalizer.
Neither goaltender would be fooled in overtime. The game ended in a 3-3 tie. Clarkson out shot Dartmouth 23-19 in the contest and Eve Grandmont-Berube came up big with 16 saves. Carli Clemis had 20 saves for Dartmouth. The women are home next week as they take on Colgate (Friday) and Cornell (Saturday)
