Every year there is a new student run business in Cheel Café. Each business is the brainchild of an SV 114 project group whose idea proved better than their other classmates'. You may remember last year's dessert business Piece of Cake, and its limited success. This year's arrival proves just as sweet and is called Blended Paradise.

Blended Paradise, located where Main Street Panini is during the daytime hours, specializes in smoothies and fruit based iced beverages. The business has a variety of flavors to choose from, ranging from strawberry-banana to creamy iced tea. The prices have been set at $2.00 for a 16-ounce cup and $3.00 for a 20-ounce cup beverage of your choice.

As with all student businesses located in Cheel Café, one usually asks how successful they may be. If popularity is a sign of success then Blended Paradise has proven successful. After three o'clock, which is when the group usually begins opening and setting up shop, it is not uncommon to see business students in green shirts busy making smoothies for a large crowd of people.

It usually takes some time to make the smoothie, though, and it comes with no top or straw. Each person makes the smoothie a little differently and blends the ice to a different degree. Customers also have to read through a book of choices to decide what they want.

Two individuals shared their thoughts on the new business. According to Ryan Cerone, "the business is well thought out and well managed with a product that is good and affordable for college students." Marcus Browne also shared his thoughts when he said, "It tastes well, though it does concern me that they only accept cash. It would be helpful for them to work with the meal plan in a way that students would not have to shell out money when they could go to Empire later and just spend declining balance. That's probably the reason more students don't come up to them." The business seems to have potential, but there is definitely room to improve.
