The Clarkson Men's Hockey team headed to Rhode Island on Friday to face off against the Bears of Brown University. Senior David Cayer scored the game winning goal in overtime as Clarkson won 4-3. On Saturday they traveled to New Haven, CT to play Yale. The team ended its eight game unbeaten streak in league play with a 5-2 loss to the Bulldogs. Clarkson beat both Brown and Yale last November at Cheel Arena.

The Golden Knights were ranked eleventh in the nation entering this weekend. They are still ranked first in the ECAC with two points over Princeton. Next weekend they'll play Union and Rensselaer away, and then they'll finish the regular season at home against Princeton and Quinnipiac.

In Friday night's game, Clarkson allowed two goals in the first period before scoring three unanswered goals of their own. After Brown's first two goals, Clarkson's first goal was scored by Shea Guthrie at 13:25 in the first period, assisted by Grant Clitsome and Scott Freeman. Guthrie assisted Clarkson's second goal, which was scored by Chris D'Alvise. At 6:09 in the second period, Steve Zalewski scored on the power play off a rebound from Matt Beca, giving Clarkson a one goal lead. With less than five minutes left in the game, Brown scored again, sending play into overtime.

Cayer scored his seventh goal of the season off a pass from Adam Bellows, winning the game for the Golden Knights.

Clarkson led the game in shots with thirty-four against Brown's twenty-nine, and Clarkson goalie David Leggio made twenty-six saves.

On Saturday night, Yale scored two goals against the Golden Knights in the first five minutes of the game. Within the last minute of the game, Beca scored Clarkson's first goal, with assists from Lauri Tuohimaa and Zalewski. Beca scored again to tie the game at two goals apiece at 7:40 in the second, with another assist going to Tuohimaa. The Bulldogs came back with three goals, one of which was on an empty net, to win the game 5-2.

Clarkson also led this game in shots 38-28, and Leggio made twenty-eight saves in the game.
